Jeff Lang remembers Chris

As he did on his previous visit up here, last night (Sunday, Sept. 8/2013) at the Ottawa Folk Festival the great Jeff Lang paid tribute to his "friend who couldn't be here" - "Mr. Whitley, wherever you are."

It's always so moving when this occurs. It seems that the real artists always remember.

As I recall, Jeff has played something from 'Dislocation Blues' when remembering Chris the last two times I saw him (Jeff) play.

In that photo, Jeff appears to be playing CW's yellow Triolian. Is this picture from the first (NYC) tribute?

It's from the Bellows Falls tribute in 2007. Dan Whitley band played too!

Not my photo... I didn't attend this one.

I was at that second tribute. Jeff was playing Chris's guitar for an exact cover of New Machine in the photo. Dan and Jeff eventually jammed on the title cut to Rocket House (Dislocation Blues version) and LWTL. Eight years without this genius gone by today.

Hello Bob!
I wish I were there...
So nice to meet you at the Bellows Falls tribute next year, though.
All the Best,
Hiroshi

I certainly loved your open mike performance Hiroshi. The guitar picks you gave me at the Opera House are in the same jewelry box where I placed them a long time ago. Receiving them from a fan of Chris's and guitarist such as you was a great honor.
