I've seen 'The Musical Box' of you are refering to the early
1970s recreation/cover band of Genesis shows from that
era. I saw them over 8 years ago perform in Raleigh, NC.
The show was spectacular. They started with Watcher
of the Skies then played almost every tune from Selling
England By The Pound and Supper's Ready and encored
with The Knife. I give them a 10 out of 10. I've never been
so transcended in my entire life. If you are refering to
something else, then sorry.

The Lamb Lies down on Broadway

That is exactly what i am refering to.
I saw them 3 times now, the Foxtrot tour, The Selling England tour and this year The Lamb Tour. They performed it the first time in Europe, where the do have an overwhelming success. Last year I met Martin Levac, the drummer, man that guy is crazy, a perfect drummer and idealist.
If you have the chance then visit the lamb tour, another perfect trip back to the early seventies.
I just saw the original Seconds Out tour, which was different to Gabriels rock theatre from 1970 to 1974/5.
The future of TMB is not sure. Insiders told me after the definitely last Lamb tour in 2006 there is another Selling tour possible. So take your chance and check the tour dates.
And here is link to take a look what they are doing now

Thanks man. My pal Kelly has been following them and the
closest place they've played to us (NC is home for me) is Jersey.
We will travel for the next tour!

The Lamb live from the Genesis Archives Vol. 1 is literally my
favourite disc of all time. The Lamb live is 10X better than the
studio version of that song.

STATEMENTS BY GENESIS MEMBERS

PETER GABRIEL
"The Musical Box recreated, very accurately I must say, what Genesis was doing. I saw them in Bristol with my children, so they could see what their father did back then."
VOIR MONTREAL - Nov 2002

STEVE HACKETT
"I cannot imagine that you could have a better tribute for any act. They not only manage to sound, but look virtually identical. It seems as though nothing is too difficult for them."
STORY.NEWS.YAHOO.COM - Jul 2002

"I think they're the closest thing to seeing us back in either 1973, 1974 or 1975. They spend a tremendous amount of time recreating the whole thing and probably play it better than we did at the time!"
PLANET RADIO - Mar 2005

MICHAEL RUTHERFORD
"It was better than the real thing actually. It was great, that was fantastic."
BBC NEWS - May 2002

TONY BANKS
"I have seen a video of them and the guy who does Gabriel is brilliant."
NOVA TV - Feb 1998

PHIL COLLINS
"The Musical Box are a group of artists who have, over the years, painstakingly recreated various periods of the early Genesis years, with amazing accuracy and aplomb."
"They have uncannily captured US BACK THEN in every way."
TOUR PROGRAMME - Oct 2004

"This is the only way to see it because it was never filmed. So... if you want to experience what it was like... and certainly musically they get very close and I think these guys play it better than we did..."
RADIO DRS3 - Feb 2005

ARMANDO GALLO
"Love, passion, devotion and talent have come together to make a dream come true: to recreate the magic of a legendary rock era."
GENESIS BIOGRAPHER - Nov 2000

Gregg Bendian

From Greggs Homepage:
(To me Gregg is a great drummer)

GB Joins The Musical Box

Friends,

I have some exciting news to share with you.

I have joined the "Gabriel-era" Genesis repertory ensemble, THE MUSICAL BOX as drummer and backing vocalist.

Many of you already know about this internationally respected group from French Canada, my lifelong obsession with progressive rock in general, and the early music of Genesis in particular. Now, I will actually be performing some of my most-loved music with this incredible band - the only one of it's kind to be endorsed by Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks and all of the original members of Genesis.

THE MUSICAL BOX will tour throughout Europe and North America this fall performing "Selling England By The Pound," "Foxtrot," and a rare "Nursery Cryme" show. See the Tour Dates page for more info.

As a result of this new commitment, I will be powering down my jazz-rock repertory ensemble and labor of love, THE MAHAVISHNU PROJECT for the rest of 2007 after our two concerts in September. It's possible that THE MAHAVISHNU PROJECT will resume playing occasional concerts soon after the New Year.

I'm very excited about this new musical challenge and I hope you will have the opportunity to hear and see THE MUSICAL BOX in one of our upcoming concerts.

Sincerely,
Gregg B.

Listen to the words and look and then you will know why Peter Gabriel is considered to be one of the first punks.

He once said about this album.
" I wanted to bring the band from the 60ies to the 70ies, finally!"
